Community Trainers & Mentors are Not for Profit specialists in the areas of finance and governance.
We work exclusively in New Zealand's Not for Profit sector. That is all we do. And we know the sector extremely well.
We created Community Trainers & Mentors out of years of successful performance through the Accounting for Charities Trust.
The Accounting for Charities Trust has a significant focus on serving the finance & governance needs of registered charities in the Lower North Island, Hamilton and Auckland regions. We have created Community Trainers & Mentors to provide the same excellent benchmarked services to Not for Profit organisations and groups in the same regions, who are not registered charities.

- Incorporated societies
- Community-based organisations
- Organisations and groups dedicated to the arts, childcare, education or health.
There will soon be a requirement for Not for Profit organisations who are not registered charities to conduct financial and service performance reporting consistent with registered charities. This requires expert training and robust financial systems review and training. This is what we do.

Mark Vallance.
Mark is the General Manager of Community Trainers & Mentors.
Mark is a Xero and MYOB Approved Partner. He has had extensive training experience with both Xero and MYOB including teaching students at Weltec. He has a Bachelor of Business Degree (BBS) and is a member of the NZ Institute of Management (MNZIM) and NZ Trustees Association (ANZTA). Mark also has a National Certificate in Adult Education & Training.
Mark has had extensive accountancy and management experience in both the commercial and Not for Profit sectors. He has also had extensive fundraising and grant management experience by working as a Finance and Operations Manager in Class 4 gaming, and with the Department of Internal Affairs in community operations.
Mark is passionate about the community and has had volunteer roles with the Fire Brigade; sports coaching, and as a Bureau Advisor with Citizens Advice Bureau.
